Overview & Responsibilities
The Field HR Director providesleadershipand oversight for Human Resources activities in a geographic market and ensureseffectiveness of service delivery and achievement of HR and field business plans in support of our company vision, values and goals.The position reports to the Director of Field HR Services and is based in New York, Baltimore or Washington DC.The Director must have excellent people leadership skills, strong business acumen, excellent employee relations skills, expertise in technology and systems preferably in Workday, highly-refined decision-making skills, demonstrated ability to implement change and the leadership skills necessary to direct managers and staff to meet goals and represent the HR function to the organization. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Support HR and Company strategic plans
Lead a team consisting of five HR Managers and an HR coordinator; direct and monitor work, provide ongoing coaching and development, address and resolve issues, conduct performance appraisals and ensure a collaborative work environment.
Work in partnership with field leadership to identify and integrate HR practices that accomplish company, Field and HR business goals and objectives.
Provide leadership and hands-on support for identification and development of field leaders; train management skills and business acumen, develop coaching/mentoring programs, facilitate formal activities, and assist with succession planning.
Champion technology by becoming proficient in company systems in order to teach and reinforce technology procedures in the field and identify and use metrics to support HR and field business plans.
Build strong relationships with Corporate Human Resources to develop and implement strategic and tactical initiatives that support corporate and market strategic goals and objectives.
Help minimize turnover by identifying root causes and addressing them with concrete plans.
Support Field leaders on all employee matters including performance management, coaching and development, disciplinary action, compensation management, and facilitating supervisory, management and leadership skills training.
Where applicable, implement the corporate labor relations strategy across geographic markets. Favorably manage the management-union activities and environment and actively participate in all contract negotiations, grievance and arbitration activities. Ensure management is well versed on all terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreements and work with management to correct practices that are inconsistent with contract language or federal and/or state laws.
Work closely with the Legal department as needed to ensure all applicable state laws and processes are consistently applied.

Requirements & Qualifications
- BS / BA in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.
Minimum 10 years in a significant HR management or people management role, including responsibility for multiple staff members.
Experience in using skills in metrics and data.
Experience in performance management, succession planning and the use of feedback tools (360 and/or other assessments).
Experience integrating HR solutions with business results using data and metrics to articulate the outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong initiative, high energy, strong sense of urgency and the ability to handle many projects simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills.
Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge and experience with HR systems, preferably WorkDay.
Outstanding people management and collaboration skills.
Experience with labor unions and collective bargaining a plus.
Must be able to travel 25-35% .
