Overview & Responsibilities

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

SCI is currently looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst- Budgeting for our FP&A department. Under minimal supervision, with independent judgement and strong analytical skills, the Sr. Financial Analyst will monitor and manage SCI’s Corporate Overhead budgets and other planning activities within our FP&A Group. The Sr. Financial Analyst will also backfill and support other functional support activities as needed, including assisting with projects supporting Supply Chain, IT, and forecasting.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare reports, schedules, and presentations needed for monthly, quarterly, and annual for management review

  • Utilize various process improvement tools, assist with the identification of improvement opportunities and potentially redesign solutions

  • Monitor and Track performance on a monthly basis

  • Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports for internal management and respond to related inquiries with additional, follow-up analysis, as required

  • Prepare supporting financial analysis for Sr. Management as requested

  • Reconcile analyses to make sure numbers tie with data sources

  • Compile information in a user-friendly format to present to key internal clients

  • Responsible over quality control for all models, and support schedules

  • Work with group leadership to complete high priority projects, improve analysis practices, address project priorities, and interact with other corporate departments

  • Provide critical reports and real time analysis of corporate overhead activities and budget

  • Develop timeline and strategies for communicating annual and monthly budgeting process

  • Answer and address ad hoc questions from Budget Owners, Sr. Management and financial reporting

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field required

  • 3+ years in financial analysis, consulting, or accounting role with an emphasis on quantitative and financial analysis, budgeting, or scenario analysis

  • Excellent analytical, prioritization and communication skills

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Self-starter who can work independently and manage competing priorities while working to deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with other team members and across functional groups

  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach essential; and willingness to learn

  • Experience building, modifying, maintaining, and reviewing financial models, primarily in MS Excel, for the purpose of assisting and advising Sr. level managerial decision-making

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook along with Advance Excel skills

  • Experience with presentation of analysis, financial results, model outputs, etc.

  • Project management skills are a plus
