Develops, implements and manages purchase plans, evaluates inventory levels, provides historical performance analysis, and provides leadership and direction to operations. Researches and identifies resalable merchandise that is appropriate to SCI and the funeral industry. Provides current and relevant purchasing facts.
Purchase Trend Data
Develops merchandising plans that are tied to business goals and objectives
Researches, monitors, maintains and analyzes costs, distribution and pricing updates
Maintains key activities and reports on strategic vendors to include vendor evaluation
Analyzes historical treads and current trends
Reviews replenishment data and strategize future plans to maximize profitability
Reviews stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends and ensuring plan sales, markups and markdowns are achieved by departments
Provides Director with information necessary to make informed decisions in a timely manner
Follows established protocol / methodology for product life cycle
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
- 5 years professional experience in retail merchandise/procurement/planning
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Funeral industry experience, demonstrated by a thorough knowledge of funeral products
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
Understanding of key financial and retail business principles
Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to communicate with associates at all levels of the organization
Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
