GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Full Stack Software Developer

Making Everlasting Memories® (MeM®) develops creative software solutions to enhance the way people celebrate and memorialize lives lived. With our suite of web based applications, users are able to create tribute movies, memorial websites, printable service items, bound story books and many other keepsakes. To support our continued growth, MeM is expanding its Technology Team with individuals who learn quickly and possess excellent technical skills.

We are currently seeking a Full Stack Developer to assist in the design and implementation of new business initiatives. We are an Agile shop, like to try new tools and processes, aren't afraid to change, and release small chunks of value to our vast customer network just as quickly as we can. We work together, peer review each other, and have a rule of leaving things better than we found them.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in all phases of software development in an Agile environment

  • Practice SOLID coding principles with unit tests, refactoring and review

  • Design and code new features based upon just enough specification to provide a minimum viable product

  • Iterate existing features to continually add value to the overall product offerings

  • Analyze existing features to determine where problems occur and develop possible solutions

  • Work within departmental standards, policy, and guidelines of software development, security, and operational support

  • Demonstrate strong ability to work as a member of a team

  • Regular attendance is required

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, or related discipline preferred

  • Commensurate experience with full stack development can be substituted for a degree

Successful candidates typically have:

  • Strong coding skills in C#, SQL, Javascript and associated frameworks

  • Desire to continually make the codebase better

  • Proficiency in analysis and problem solving

  • Ability to take initiative and conduct thorough follow-up

  • Excellent oral and written communication - able to voice concerns, suggest changes and improvements during retrospectives, and give daily standup reports

  • Ability to pair program and participate in peer code reviews

  • Experience in Visual Studio

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in the discipline; or equivalent offsetting experience (boot camp/code school training)

Additional skills preferred:

  • AWS services - Lambda, Docker

  • Experience with GitHub

  • Experience with TeamCity
